Sweet and sour

Enjoying food in good company and beautiful surroundings is often made out as a given thing when dining out.
I am exploring what makes the experience.
What I search for is the taste of fresh ingredients, aroma that gets the juces flowing and a plate for the eye.
The location and staff with a passion help create the experience.
Leaving with a smile and longing to visit again is the key.

After rain and shine, good and bad, sweet and sour I cant but invite you to follow my journey on dining out in Reykjavík and maby even venturing out of the city into the smaller towns in Iceland.

Bring on the adventure!

Lunch date in the biggest Gló restaurant in Reykjavík owned by veggie guru Solla Eiríks.
On offer was fastfood streetstyle were you design your own bowl of salad from a variaton of ingredients.
So what I chose was some green lettuce and quinoa, mixed root veggies and beetroot, some chicken and a cashew dressing with a topping of coconut flakes, chilly and cranberries.
Drinking pink rhubarb soda from the bottle was fresh and sparkly.

Digging in was fun, bringing out the colourful beetroot. Beets and chicken with the spicy chashew dressing tasted good and the coconut chilly topping really made the bowl tasty. What I missed was some fresh green herbs that make a plate come alive. But a nice luch I can reccomend.

The counter at Gló looked interesting and appertizing but the dining area was a little bare.

For a light lunch or afternoon snack I can give the "Bowl" at Gló *** stars!
